LG plans capacity building for workers
The Lagos State Public Service Staff Development Centre has expressed readiness to partner the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area to improve the capacity building of its workforce.
This was disclosed by the Director General of PSSDC, Mr Adekunmilola Adio-Moses, during his recent courtesy visit to the Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area, Mr Abdulahi Olowa, according to a statement by the state government.
During the visit, Adio-Moses lauded the council chairman’s significant investment in capacity building and manpower in the local government since his assumption of office.
He noted that the chairman had given scholarships to students at the primary, secondary and tertiary levels in the area.
The Director of Programmes, PSSDC, Mr Olufemi Sholaja, who spoke on behalf of the Director General, requested more collaboration with the local government in areas of Structured Training Programmes for officers on Grade Level 05 and below, as well as capacity building and training for other categories of workers.
In his response, Olowa appreciated the Director General and his management team for the visit, just as he acknowledged the importance of the capacity building of people at the grassroots level to produce qualified and efficient manpower.
