Ministry inspects LG projects
The Lagos State Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs has undertaken a working visit to the Ikeja Local Government Area of Lagos State.
A statement on Monday quoted the� Director, Local Government Monitoring Department in the ministry, Mr Ogunjobi Raymond, as explaining that the visit was to assess the council programmes, projects and activities.
�We need to monitor your projects and ensure that they conform with set standards,� Raymond told the vice council chairman, Yomi Mayungbe, who received the delegation on behalf of the Ikeja LGA Chairman, Mojeed Balogun.
In his remarks, the deputy LGA chairman promised that the council would continue to initiate policies and projects that would directly and positively impact the lives of the residents.
He pledged that the LGA would continue to work with various government ministries, departments and agencies to better the lives of the residents.
Also speaking, the Council Manager, Mr Azeez Saheed, emphasised the need for harmonisation in government policies to make the local government tasks easy, smooth and fast, appealed for uniformity in directives from both the local and state governments through the Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs as well as the MDAs.
